WOW...that was EPIC bullshit. Honestly after spending all this time researching the rules on how to do missions the right way and respecting realism and the time lime...I'm pretty POed that the supposed leader of the free world would pull this kind of crap. I've seen forums of Dragon preaching realsim but now he's saying that he has a ship that has greater capabilities than anything even seen on Star Trec. I'd know because that's my favorite series. Honestly I'm pissed that I didn't buy Falcon4 or LOMAC or Il-2 and start a group there. But since I'm here I might as well make the best of this. Plus I friended Sharkey on facebook and by looking at his profile and everything I'm pretty certain he's legit. No clue what the heck is going on, because I don't really care, but just so everyone knows, GPEO has had this whole STMS thing on the board for at least 3 years, so it's not unlikely for them to finally finish testing it and actually do a space launch. Still, the technology of the world doesn't fit it. I'm tempted to simply say "screw it" and restart my own Virtual World. Maybe if we got rid of all this bullshit we could actually DO something instead of sit here calling eachother out with bullshit.

I clearly remember them telling me it would take about that same amount of time for OCU to build Capital Island which only houses 500 people. If that's the case, there is no way they could possibly design, construct, test, and launch what would be the single largest man made structure in history, housing 50,000+ people in the same amount of time. They would need millions of construction workers working every minute of everyday to do so. And the materials? Psshhh. Think of it this way, it takes an entire construction crew about three to five months to build a three bedroom house that's designed to house a small family of 3-5, and that's just slapping it together being fast and cheap. Designing something that holds 50,000+ (the population of a small city), that moves, taking off under Earth's gravity, and flies into space on its own self generated power, self sustains in the harsh environment of deep space, can withstand nuclear blasts, and has some crazy off the wall thrust system allowing it to outrun the fastest known moving thing in the universe (light) is something that human technology will never possibly accomplish. Teleportation is actually more realistic than the STMS. I have a degree in Aerospace Engineering from ERAU. Graduated in 2005. I know what I'm talking about. Honestly, I'm favoring the idea of you starting your own world. This is just TOO FULL OF SHIT. If you're serious let me know what your ideas are and maybe we'll jump in with you. It has become PAINFULLY obvious why every body walked away from this.

Honestly it doesn't take a college degree or even a 5th grade home school education to call this bullshit. I just got here and I've seen the biggest load of crap ever before my group even got to fly a single mission. The only reason I'm still here is because my other two guys want to stay and see where this goes. I've completely lost interest. If this was star wars I could see this STMS thing being built in space like the death star (which took 20 years to build) but this is supposed to be modern day earth so this is the fakest shit I've ever heard of. I really regret wasting my time with this VW if this is the way things are going to be. Like OCU said I see why everybody split. I'd rather give Reverend a chance to come up with something realistic than go any further with this. Peace.

That new Virtual World idea is sounding pretty good to me.

Wow, see that Reverend. You got three votes in less than 20 minutes. Come up with something dude. This has become completely ridicules. I'm sure we wont' be the only ones down with the idea of participating in a world that's not completely full of DRAGON CRAP.

I'll consult with a few people I know from back in the day and see what I can come up with. In the event that my own world goes up, it'll be realistic aircraft only. None of this KC-117 or E-117 stuff, no STMS, etc. etc. Also, I will have a system in place for battles that take place outside of FSX, such as land-based assaults, etc. I'll come up with variables for those as well, such as experience, numbers, technology, fear factors, etc. etc. so that ground and sea-based attacks will be more realistic. Also, in the event an attack goes underway over an enemy territory, I will also be sure to factor in a percentage of inventory lost due to SAM sites, etc. This will make statistics more realistic. Counting system will remain the same for the new world.

Keep in mind this is still just an idea. I have a lot of paperwork to do if this is to even happen. I wiill keep you posted.

Since 2006, actually. Though, it is not like Star Track or Star Wars. If everyone wanted to DO something, then why call neutrality at first sign of trouble, or close borders to the world ? No one will mess with you and you wont get any actions. Hell, why don't we just put away the bull shit and unite against the largest faction in FSX, and use all of our entire combined Intelligence to infiltrate, plan and openly engage them ? PM me if you are interested in such idea.

Still don't see how it's possible to generate a near-infinite amount of energy to allow for such a large craft to accelerate to near-light-speed, and how such a craft could transport the entire population of Manhattan Island. Heck, I can barely understand the defensive weapons on-board. Frankly, I don't truly care, as it will have no influence on the VR-World anyways.
